CUCME and/or CUCMBE

Postby ciscoskeemz on Wed Mar 10, 2010 7:27 pm

Hello,

I'm beginning my voice studies. I'm going to be taking the CVOICE exam, but since I have no deadline, I figured I'd start with the IIUC material. I have a question, which may be a silly one.

If I have two buildings, each with 200 users each and I setup CUCME at each site.....how would they communicate with each other? Meaning....would a user in SiteA be able to dial a 3 or 4(digits doesnt matter) ext to a user in SiteB, or would they have to dial the full number?

I'm just wondering how multi site infrastructure would be setup, when the total users is less than 1500 , or even 500

I apologize if this is a silly question

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike

Quick solution given them 4 digit extension one with 1... and the other with 2... and define dial-peers.
It is covered in detail in the CME / UE Ciscopress book.

Thanks Conwyn! I will get to learning about dial-peers soon enough, but that question came to mind, so figured I'd go to trustworthy CLN and ask.
Appreciate it
