regarding the new TSHOOT exam...

First of all hello to everyone,

I'll make this short - regarding the CCNP certification track - I am aware of the old exams are being phased out and that they are replaced by ROUTE, SWITCH and TSHOOT. However, since I've spent the better of the last 8 months preparing and studing for the old track (have passed bsci and bcmsn already) I think I will go ahead and earn my CCNP with the old exam track since I've spent a lot of time studying and practicing for iscw and ont exams. Now my question is: I'd really like to give TSHOOT a go as in I would like to take that exam too! The problem is can I? Can I finish my CCNP and then write the TSHOOT or no?

Nothing prevents you from learning the material, so once cert is complete do it (IMHO).
3 years goes really fast and you might want to learn that T-Shoot material for your renewal exam,
unless your plan is to continue to the CCIE. If that the case you need to study the T-Shoot material anyways.

I'm in the same boat, im just finished BSCI and BCMSN and will be taking TSHOOT. If you think you can master ONT and ISCW by August 1st, go for it. But on that day, they will be decomissioned exams, and your study time on them will be a waste (towards certification, but not knowledge).

You can complete your CCNP by taking the TSHOOT exam, instead of taking the ONT and ISCW exams

That's what I was thinking as well... Now since I plan to pursue a CCIE in R&S in the near future I think that studying for and taking the TSHOOT would count toward the knowhow and experience needed to master the lab exam. I was just worried about the retake policy and all that- but since the tshoot exam is a new exam I don't think it would violate any rules.
